Tomb Raider Gameboy game

Tomb Raider (also known as Tomb Raider: The Nightmare Stone) is a 2000 action-adventure video game developed by Core Design and published by THQ for the Game Boy Color. It marks Lara Croft's debut on Nintendo platforms and follows her journey through ruins in South America in search of a powerful artifact. The game combines platforming and puzzle-solving elements in a 2D side-scrolling environment.

Gameplay:
Players control Lara Croft across 14 levels spread across five areas. Each level requires puzzle-solving, obstacle jumping, and defeating enemies. Lara can execute up to 25 different moves, including ledge-grabbing, backflips, and cliff-diving. The storyline revolves around Lara's mission to prevent treasure hunters from acquiring the Nightmare Stone, capable of releasing the evil god Quaxet.

Development and Release:
Developed by Core Design, Tomb Raider was Lara Croft's first title on Nintendo hardware. The game's technical achievements were lauded, with over two thousand animations for Lara, rendered from the home console originals. The music and audio were handled by Manfred Linzner and Bernhard Wodok of Shin'en. Eidos Interactive licensed the property out to THQ, with the game releasing in various regions in 2000.
