Tetris DX Gameboy game

Tetris DX was released for the Game Boy Color by Nintendo in 1998. It was an enhanced version of the original Game Boy Tetris, featuring two new gameplay modes (Ultra and Vs. CPU), a profile/save feature, and color graphics optimized for the Game Boy Color and above.

The rotation system in Tetris DX was an early version of what would later become the SRS (Super Rotation System). It allowed for rotations of tetrominoes within a bounding square, with certain tetrominoes rotating differently compared to the final SRS.

One notable aspect of Tetris DX's rotation system was the ability to exploit certain mechanics, such as "wall climbing," where players could move tetrominoes upwards by rotating them against a wall. This exploit was later fixed in the SRS rotation system.

Tetris DX also introduced the concept of "Infinity," where rotating a piece around an alternate center could reset the lock delay timer used for gravity, allowing players to keep a piece in play indefinitely under certain conditions.

Overall, Tetris DX offered a variety of gameplay modes and introduced some unique mechanics, making it a memorable entry in the Tetris series for Game Boy Color players.
