Super Robot Taisen - Original Generation (USA) Gameboy Advance game

Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation, initially released in Japan on November 22, 2002, introduced players to a tactical role-playing world void of licensed mecha and characters. Developed by Banpresoft and published by Banpresto, Atlus, and 505 Games across different regions, it marked a departure from the series norm, focusing solely on Banpresto's original creations. The game's success led to adaptations like the short animated OVA, "Super Robot Wars Original Generation: The Animation," and the television series "Super Robot Wars Original Generation: Divine Wars."

Set two hundred years after the "Space Era," the game unfolds amidst chaos caused by meteors devastating Earth. The discovery of Extra-Over Technology (EOT) leads to the creation of humanoid mecha, called Personal Troopers, by the Earth Federal Government. But tensions rise when the Aerogaters, creators of EOT, attack, triggering a conflict that spirals into civil war as factions like the Divine Crusaders emerge.

Original Generation offers players unique perspectives through two male protagonists, each navigating their paths amid the conflict. Alongside customizable mechs, players can equip or remove weapons, a first for the series. Pilot customization adds depth, allowing players to upgrade skills and stats using Pilot Points.

Following its success, a sequel, "Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation 2," continued the saga. And on June 27, 2007, "Super Robot Wars: Original Generations," an enhanced remake combining both Original Generation games, arrived on the PlayStation 2. This remake, celebrating the series' 15th anniversary, introduced new features like the Twin Battle System and expanded the roster with new mecha and characters, deepening the gameplay experience.
