Spyro 2 - Season of Flame (USA) Gameboy Advance game

Spyro 2: Season of Flame, released for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, continues the adventures of Spyro the Dragon following the events of Spyro: Season of Ice. Developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Universal Interactive, Season of Flame received generally favorable reviews from critics, who praised its challenging gameplay and colorful graphics. However, the game was criticized for its tricky controls.

In the game, Spyro's mission is to recover the stolen fireflies, which have been abducted by the Rhynocs, causing the Dragon Realm to lose its ability to breathe fire. With the help of Sparx, Bianca, and Hunter, Spyro sets out to uncover the culprit behind the theft, eventually discovering that Ripto is responsible. Along the way, Spyro encounters various challenges and adversaries, including Ripto's minions, Crush and Gulp.

Gameplay involves traversing the Dragon Realms, rescuing fireflies, and completing tasks for its inhabitants. Spyro possesses various abilities, such as breathing freezing cold air, charging through obstacles, and gliding through the air. By rescuing fireflies, Spyro can regain the ability to breathe fire and unlock new abilities, such as headbutting and breaking barriers.

Throughout the game, players may also control other characters like Agent 9 the Monkey and Sheila the Kangaroo, each with their own unique abilities. Additionally, players can engage in Dragon Draughts, a game mode resembling Checkers, after completing the main story.

Despite some criticisms of its controls, Spyro 2: Season of Flame remains a beloved installment in the series, offering engaging gameplay and challenging puzzles for fans of the purple dragon.
