Animorphs, a game developed by Runny-Fun and published by Ubisoft for Game Boy Color, takes players on an adventure reminiscent of Pokémon gameplay but with a twist—morphs instead of Pokémon. The storyline plunges players into the midst of an alien invasion by the Yeerks, sinister creatures that infiltrate human brains to control them. As part of the Animorphs team, players must retrieve four microprocessors crucial for thwarting the Yeerks' plan to dominate Earth.

In this portable action-adventure, players assume the roles of four Animorphs, navigating through five missions across 12 locations. However, there's a catch—if players spend more than two hours as an animal, they're permanently stuck in that form. Each mission involves exploring areas for vital information to unlock morphs from over 45 different animals. Battle mode pits players against opponents in a card-battle style, akin to the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Additionally, there's a side-scrolling mode that challenges players to utilize their morphing and animal skills.

The game incorporates the Ubi Key feature, enabling players to unlock hidden features and games by connecting two Game Boy Colors via the infrared port. The game booklet sets the stage, narrating the perilous battle against the Yeerks and the Animorphs' desperate struggle for Earth's survival.
